The Grace Hopper AI Research Institute unites faculty and students dedicated to developing enhanced artificial intelligence tools and innovative AI applications. It accelerates these efforts by fostering innovation, collaboration, and societal impact through advancing AI research, as well as related fields such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics.
Part to AI@NJIT’s overall AI initiative, the Institute was established through a $3 million endowment and a $3 million gift. It provides robust support for AI research across the university, funding numerous student-focused initiatives, such as grants for AI-related research through NJIT’s Summer Undergraduate Research and Innovation (URI) Program, student conference attendance, scholarships, and grants that promote student engagement in faculty-led AI research.
